The end game photo. On the fish clip, with the gaff still in place, with a trusty 6" Rainbow Fishtrap lure, well placed on his upper lip!

One more Halibut from the WON Islander trip to San Clemente Island. My sweet little 10 lb Halibut that fell for a live Sardine, in 15' of gin clear water. Thanks to Paul Lebowitz for snaping the photo, and for inviting me on the trip, I am always glad to spend time on the Islander!

Approching the Islander at sunset, after a full day on the water. A welcome site for any tired kayak fishermen after another epic day fishing around San Clemente Island. Be sure to join the Islander and crew for one of the Kayak Mothership Trips, you may even see me there too!

Josh with the Halibut slayers smile! Great work on the big hen. Notice how nice and flat the conditions were. Florocarbon leaders and live bait fooled the Halibut this day!

Josh with his warm up Halibut. We hit a spot that is a honey hole for halibut. Josh was able to step it up on his next fish!

One of the many quality Calicos (Kelp Bass), that are on tap at San Clemente Island. Here Jason Leikam holds a sweet fish for a shot before release. Plastics worked well for the Bass, but live bait was hard to beat too.
