03-29-2009 Spring is inthe air, water temps are on the rise as well. Still in shoulder rehab mode, from last years severe sprain. Get out and paddle if you can, lots of good action starting to pick up.

12-29-2008 Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year too all. Have healed up and am ready to fish! Winter good weather windows are great oppertunity to get out, so watch the weather reports and charge it when it looks good. More fishing days in 2009 are top of my wish list. Hope to spend some time with you on the water this year. TL Rhino

10-25-2008 I am off the water this weekend, due to a well placed fish spine in my right thumb, that turned into a felon. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of having a felon in one of your fingers, try to avoid one at all cost. Puss, swelling, pain like I wanted to pull a Ronnie Lott and rip the thing off! ER on Thurs, a shot to numb it, and then a well placed slice, and relief! Some gnarly antibiotics rounded out the experience, and no alcohol for the 10 days of the antibiotics..... . I even let the fish go that did this to me, what karma? So watch those spines, gill rakes etc... you do not want to have a felon on your hands! Get out and fish, I need something to read about! 10-08-2008 Good weather windows are plentiful in the fall, so be sure to get out during one of them and enjoy the fishing. Be sure to watch the weather reports and be mindful of the Santa Ann wind events possible during this time of year. They pose so real dangers for all kayak enthusiasts.
Be safe and if you do head offshore, carry a waterproof, handheld VHF, like the ones from Standard Horizon, they may save your life.

09-22-2008 Fall is upon us today, but the fish are still in the summer mode. Many of the coastal waters are still loaded with bait, keeping the locals happy and active. Get out while you can to take advantage of the good fall fishing, on a kelp bed near you! TL Rhino
